Origin Story

PREPP came from a real conversation in a real house, followed by a middle of the night inspiration that could not be ignored.

After nearly 30 years in the homebuilding industry, I recently stepped away from leading a local homebuilder. It was not the exit I had planned, but it forced a reset. At that same time, we had launched a family business for our nephew to run day to day. A move that had ignited my entrepreneurial spirit and had my longtime friend Kent and me thinking about what we could build together.

I was reviewing the home of a friend’s mother, who had experienced medical trauma and may or may not be able to return to living in the home independently. We were looking at necessary window replacements and general updates. At one point, I asked a simple question: What is the plan for the future of this house? Rental or Sale? Once that idea was on the table, we started making a list. Clean this up, fix this, paint that, remove that. The goal was to make the home feel more consistent. Nothing complicated. Just a practical list of what you would do before listing. We wrapped up and I moved on with my day.

A few nights later, I woke up at 2 am and it hit me. That list was the business. We found it! Not renovating. Not over-improving. Just getting homes market ready the right way. Years of seeing deals stall, coordinating contractors, building over 3000 homes, and pushing messy deals over the closing line all came rushing in at once. I was wide awake immediately because I knew I was onto something.

Within two weeks, PREPP was incorporated and we were off. No long runway, just momentum. We started figuring out the business model, building the brand, and even working through early logo ideas in ChatGPT as AI tools were just starting to show up in everyday workflows in early 2026.

 

A simple, straightforward origin. A simple list and a 2 am moment that turned into something real.

Corey Dean

Co-Founder

Corey Dean brings over three decades of hands-on construction and project leadership experience to PREPP. Over the course of his career, Corey has worked in virtually every phase of residential building from field management and project coordination to serving as president of a local home builder. Corey has coordinated the construction of over 3000 homes.

This depth of experience allows Corey to quickly identify practical solutions, anticipate challenges, and guide preparation decisions that balance impact, timeline, and cost. His approach focuses on clear communication, thoughtful prioritization, and steady execution that keeps projects moving without overwhelming sellers or disrupting listing momentum.

Corey co-founded PREPP to create a more supportive and coordinated preparation experience for both agents and homeowners. His focus is on helping properties reach the market with confidence through preparation that is intentional, realistic, and aligned with the goals of the sale.

Kent Adams

Co-Founder

Kent Adams brings more than 35 years of sales leadership and real estate experience to PREPP. A licensed real estate salesperson since 2007, Kent has been directly involved in over 100 residential property flips, giving him first hand insight into what truly drives value when preparing a home for market.

Throughout his career, Kent has founded and scaled multiple businesses and franchise concepts, developing a deep understanding of operations, systems, and growth strategy. His entrepreneurial background, combined with decades of hands-on real estate experience, uniquely positions him to bridge the gap between contractors, investors, agents, and homeowners.

Kent co-founded PREPP to simplify the listing preparation process and eliminate the stress and guesswork sellers often face. His vision is to create a nationally recognized presale preparation platform that helps homes enter the market strategically, efficiently, and without unnecessary renovation.
